DayStone ("the app", "we") is a local-first mood diary for iOS, Android, and the web. We designed DayStone so that your entries stay on your own device and, if you choose, in your own personal cloud. We do not operate our own servers or accounts, and we do not collect, sell, or share your diary data.
Diary content you create. Text, photos, emotions, weather, place, music, and tags you add to entries and letters. This is stored locally on your device.
Photos. When you attach a photo, the app accesses your photo library with your permission. Selected photos are stored inside your entries on your device.
Optional cloud sync. If you enable it, your entries are copied to a cloud account that you control:
This data lives in your own Apple/Google account and is governed by their privacy policies. We cannot read it.
Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play. We receive transaction records needed to unlock and restore items; we never receive your payment card details.
Sign-in (Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In). Used only as a local gate to verify and restore purchases. We do not create a server account or profile from it.
Device unlock (Face ID / device authentication). Handled entirely by your operating system. The app never sees or stores your biometric data.
